Glendale’s Roy Martin, Daughter Nikki Vie In Motorcycling’s First Daughters of Custom Build-Off
As women shift gears in motorcycle culture and Father’s Day approaches, the daughter of Glendale’s Police Lieutenant Roy Martin is roaring to the front nationally along with her proud dad.
Nikki Martin and her dad are competing this month in the first ever Daughters of Custom Build-Off in Austin, Texas, June 7-9th.
One of the nation’s largest motorcycle rallies, the Republic of Texas daughter duo. Biker Rally or ROT Rally attracts more than 40,000 attendees. Competing on the national stage isn’t new to this father-daughter duo. In February of this year the pair were runners-up in the final round of the J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show in Chicago.
They won a portion of the $70,000 in cash and awards plus their entry paid to compete in the championship.
As a father, Lieutenant Roy Martin — Division Commander for the City of Glendale’s Police Department — couldn’t be prouder of his daughter’s bike building abilities. “I’ve always wanted Nikki to follow in my footsteps, but she has gone farther then I have ever dreamed,” he admits.
