Where Past and Future Builders Collide

World-famous motorcycle photographer Michael Lichter curates motorcycle exhibits each year at the exhibit hall at the Buffalo Chip.

This year’s “Old Iron Young Blood” exhibit features the work of the Next Generation of Motorcycling’s Masters with builders under the age of 36 years old.

The Builders @ Old Iron / Young Blood Show 
A few grew up in their own family’s motorcycle businesses; some came into building when they were older, eventually starting their own commercial shops.

Others still have day jobs and work on their bikes in home garages in what waking hours they have left. But despite the different avenues that lead them into their craft, these burgeoning young builders all have one thing in common—each has proven that their generation works hard and is ready move the industry forward.

Nikki Martin is one of the Next Generation of Motorcycling’s Masters

World-famous motorcycle photographer Michael Lichter has curated motorcycle exhibits for 17 years and the Buffalo Chip’s Motorcycles as Art exhibit for nine, choosing a new theme on which to base the exhibit annually. Exhibits have had themes ranging from baggers to café racer culture and everything in between.

Motorcycles as Art has become a hallmark of The Best Party Anywhere® during the Sturgis Rally, drawing in guests and media from around the world. Over the years the exhibit has been featured on multiple television shows, including Velocity’s Café Racer TV!
